Drake University's Garrett Sturtz and Joseph Yesufu have been named to the Missouri Valley Conference Men's Basketball Scholar-Athlete Teams, the league announced Thursday, March 4. Sturtz earned first-team honors, while Yesufu was named to the second team.
This accolade is the second time Sturtz has earned a spot on the MVC Scholar-Athlete Team as he was named to the second team last season.
Sturtz, who owns a 3.52 GPA as a marketing major, averaged 8.4 points and 5.3 rebounds per game while shooting 56.8 percent from the field and team-best 81.4 percent at the free-throw line.
