The Drake University men's golf team sits in a tie for fourth place following first round play at the ODU/OBX Invitational at the Kilmarlic Golf Club in Powels Point, N.C. The Bulldogs carded a first-round team score of 282 (-2) to open play and trail co-leaders Delaware and Georgetown by four strokes. Tied with Drake for fourth place is host Old Dominion.
The Bulldogs were led by a stellar five-under par score of 66 from senior Lucas Scherf. Scherf sits in second place for the tournament after his round featured a blistering six birdies on the back nine.
