The Drake Relays presented by Xtream powered by Mediacom invites members of the Greater Des Moines and Central Iowa community to join them in cheering on Iowa native Karissa Schweizer Saturday, August 7, as she competes in the 10,000 meters at the Tokyo Olympics.
The Dowling Catholic graduate and Drake Relays record holder will race in her first Olympics against the world's best at 5:40 a.m. as she competes for gold. Fans can gather on Court Avenue at 5:30 a.m. to watch and support Schweizer. Fans are also encouraged to partake in a pre or post-race run of their own on the streets of Des Moines before enjoying the Downtown Farmers' Market at 7 a.
