PARIS, France – The 2024 Olympic Games came to a close in Paris yesterday, capping the two-week event. Elite athletes from across the globe demonstrated their sensational abilities in every discipline, including over 100 former Drake Relays participants representing more than 30 different nations in athletics. Former Blue Oval competitors earned 19 total medals, which would have tied with Hungary for 14th overall if the Drake Relays entered as its own nation.
Five-time Drake Relays champion Ryan Crouser was a highlight in the field events as the current world record holder defended his shot put crown and earned his third-straight Olympic gold.
