ANKENY, Iowa – The annual Drake Golf Classic was played under pristine blue skies at one of Iowa's most exclusive golf courses, the Talons of Tuscany, in Ankeny, Iowa, Tuesday, June 6.
Teams took advantage of the ideal conditions Tuesday to post low scores across the board. The winning team from Wellmark of Chris Verlengia, Andy Verlengia, Jim Verlengia and Scotts Helms claimed the team title with a score of 131.
The second flight of the field was won by Mary Brooks, Linda Craig, Kathy Optl and Linda Weidmaier with a score of 152.
Eric Boehlert was the individual winner of the Classic with a score of 66 to earn the coveted Blue Jacket awarded to the low-score of the tournament.
