Drake University graduate Reed Fischer recorded another significant accomplishment in his professional career as the former Drake standout represented the United States at this weekend's 2018 North American, Central American and Caribbean Athletics Association (NACAC) Senior Championships in Toronto, Canada.
Fischer qualified for the championships in the 10,000 meters and finished third with a time of 29:53.63 Friday evening. Reigning USA Champion Lopez Lomong captured the NACAC title in 29:49.03.
Fischer's performance in a USA jersey added to an incredible first year as a professional for the 2017 Drake graduate. In June, he returned to Drake Stadium to compete in the USA Championship and finished fourth after leading for four of the final five laps of the race before Lomong overcame Fischer.
