CHARLESTON, S.C. – Drake earned its second win in as many days at the Shriners Children's Charleston Classic, defeating Florida Atlantic on Friday afternoon from TD Arena to earn a spot in the championship game, 75-63.
Friday's contest was a battle of mid-majors that defeated power conference opponents in their opening round games to advance to the semifinals. Drake beat Miami, 80-69 to open the tournament, while the Owls defeated Oklahoma State, 86-76.
The Bulldog defense showed up again and held the high-flying FAU offense to a season-low 63 points including a season-low 28 points in the first half.
