Drake University men's basketball head coach Darian DeVries has been named the CollegeInsider.com Hugh Durham Coach of the Year, the website announced Friday, April 5.
The honor comes following DeVries first season at the helm of the program in which he led the Bulldogs to a Missouri Valley Conference regular-season championship and 24 wins, the third most in program history.
The award is presented annually to the top mid-major coach in Division I college basketball by CollegeInsider.com and named Hugh Durham, who built winning programs at three different universities. In eight seasons as the head coach at Jacksonville University, Durham became the Dolphins' all-time winningest Division I coach (106 wins), making him the only coach in NCAA history to be the winningest coach (pct.
