DES MOINES, Iowa -- Drake football defensive lineman Finn Claypool racked up a total of four FCS All-America honors for his impressive 2023 season on the gridiron.
Claypool, a Des Moines product, was the 2023 Pioneer Football League Defensive Player of the Year in addition to All-PFL First Team and Academic All-PFL recognition. Claypool helped Drake win the 2023 PFL Championship with an undefeated 8-0 league record and clinch its first-ever appearance in the FCS playoffs behind a 57-tackle campaign that included 19.0 tackles for loss, 12.5 sacks, five forced fumbles, and two pass breakups.
