DES MOINES, Iowa – The Drake men's basketball team bounced back in a big way and climbed back into a first-place tie in the Missouri Valley Conference.
Tucker DeVries scored 29 points and three teammates also reached double figures to power the Bulldogs past Indiana State 89-78 at the Knapp Center on Wednesday night and hand the Sycamores their first conference loss.
A crowd of 4,069 – the largest of the season – saw the Bulldogs (13-3, 4-1 MVC) survive an early barrage of Indiana State 3-pointers and then pull away in the second half as DeVries, Atin Wright and Kevin Overton started making shots.
