Bulldogs fall in season opener 0-1

TERRE HAUTE, IND. -- The Drake women's soccer team fell at Indiana State, 0-1, Sunday afternoon in its season opener at Memorial Stadium.

In the first half, the Bulldogs took five shots with three shots on goal, but were unable to get past the Sycamores goalkeeper, Madi Alexander.

"There were long periods today that looked like two excited teams with a big desire to win the game, resulting in a lot of chaos," said head coach Lindsey Horner. "We had momentum at times and had much of the ball, but then we didn't manage our emotions well if we made a mistake.
