SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Anthony Barmes saved his best throw for last at the NCAA Outdoor West Preliminary hosted at Hornet Stadium on Wednesday, May 24, to move on to the finals of the upcoming NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
Barmes' last toss of 68.21m (223-9) ranked 11th on Wednesday, with the top 12 finishes qualifying for the NCAA men's hammer throw final on June 7 in Austin, Texas. Ethan Marshall (58.94m, 193-4) also competed in the first round of the men's hammer throw and did not qualify for the finals.
