Kansas City, Mo. — Jordan Zimmermann might be one of those competitors who is never satisfied with his own performance.
In his first two starts with the Tigers, he pitched 13 scoreless innings. Can’t get much better than that, right?
Wrong.
“I haven’t been as sharp as I’d like,” he said. “I’ve been making a lot of mistakes and been able to get away with them.”
He didn’t make too many mistakes Wednesday.
He extended his scoreless innings streak beyond 19 and helped the Tigers to a 3-2 win over the Royals.
