Why Tigers' Riley Greene's recovery from a broken foot could take longer than anticipated

Lakeland, Fla. — Riley Greene’s fractured right foot could, and likely will, involve more than a “6-to-8-week” absence from the lineup as the Tigers prepare for life without their 22-year-old rookie sensation and center fielder.

A source confirmed to The Detroit News the navicular was the bone fractured in Greene’s foot. It was a “non-displaced” fracture, which does not result in a non-aligned bone that can require surgery.
