CINCINNATI — It was baseball in bizarro world.
Before the Detroit Tigers opened the season by getting spanked by the Cincinnati Reds on Friday night, 7-1, in an empty stadium because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the scene outside Great American Ball Park was beyond strange.
There was no traffic. No excitement. Nobody walking around. Just a handful of people wearing Reds shirts.
Which is pretty much what it looked like inside the stadium, too.
