Detroit Tigers outfielder Roberto Campos was supposed to play in the Dominican Summer League this past season before making his way to the United States in 2021.
The COVID-19 pandemic nixed the Dominican Summer League on June 30 and halted the Tigers' plan for Campos. Still, the 17-year-old — who signed with the organization in July 2019 for a $2.85 million bonus — is getting stronger. And his baseball instincts are improving.
He continues to prepare for his U.S. arrival.
Campos, a representation of the third wave of prospects in the rebuild, is still in the Dominican Republic.
