DUNEDIN, Fla. — Tigers manager Ron Gardenhire heard an encouraging conversation in the dugout on Wednesday afternoon.
It was something that could help the entire pitching staff; not just the veterans, but even the prospects, assuming they make it to Detroit at some point.
Catcher Austin Romine was showing his leadership, giving pitcher Daniel Norris a pep talk, encouraging him to finish off batters.
“Romine did a very nice job with him,” Gardenhire said after the game was cancelled in the middle of the fourth inning because of rain.
