Chicago — Even in one of his best outings in months, there was pain for Michael Fulmer.
The Tigers ace gave up a home run to Nicky Delmonico on the first pitch of the game and then nothing but four harmless walks through 5.2 innings as the White Sox rallied in the ninth to beat the Tigers 4-2 on Labor Day.
The Tigers had taken a 2-1 lead in the top of the ninth on a 416-foot homer to left by Victor Martinez. He hit it right-handed off White Sox lefty Jace Fry.
But Daniel Palka, the same left-handed hitter who inflicted pain on Fulmer, drilled a game-tying home run off closer Shane Greene leading off the bottom of the ninth.
