CHICAGO -- Detroit Tigers closer Shane Greene allowed two home runs in the ninth inning -- including a game-winning two-run blast by Matt Davidson -- as the Chicago White Sox beat the Tigers 4-2 in the series opener Monday afternoon at Guaranteed Rate Field.
Greene entered the inning with a 2-1 lead after Tigers designated hitter Victor Martinez bashed a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning.
All the runs in the game came via home run -- four solo shots and then Davidson's finale.
Nicky Delmonico hit Tigers starter Michael Fulmer's first pitch, a 95 mph fastball, over the fence in right-center.
