John Hiller has an emotional attachment to the 1968 Detroit Tigers.
But the former Detroit Tigers pitcher's most vivid memory of the season had more to do with his finances than what happened on the field.
"The thing that sticks in my mind is the party we had after we clinched the pennant," Hiller said. "It's been 50 years, but I remember thinking when (Tiger) Joe Sparma beat the Yankees to win the pennant that we would get another paycheck.
