The Detroit Tigers received good news on the Shane Greene injury front on Friday.
An MRI scan on Greene’s right shoulder showed no structural damage, only inflammation which manager Ron Gardenhire termed, “dead arm syndrome,” not uncommon for pitchers nearing the midseason point.
Greene was placed on the 10-day disabled list on July 2. He traveled to Dallas to receive an MRI scan from Dr. Greg Pearl on Thursday.

This is good news for the Tigers, who had previously received more trade interest on Greene than any other player.
