Nick Quintana, the Detroit Tigers’ second round pick in the 2019 MLB draft, hit the first home run of his professional career on Tuesday evening. Quintana, playing in Single-A ball with the West Michigan Whitecaps, hit a solo home run to deep left field in the sixth inning to give the ‘Caps a 2-1 lead over Dayton.
Quintana added an RBI single in the eighth to pad West Michigan’s lead. He is hitting .286 with a .944 OPS through his first five games as a pro.
