Statistically speaking, Isaac Paredes’ MLB career has gotten off to a slow-ish start. But those paying attention knew that he was outplaying his 1-for-9 start. The 21-year-old proved it on Friday with his first career home run, a grand slam off Cleveland starter Adam Plutko.
Paredes’ dinger not only cleared the bases, it gave the Tigers a 7-5 lead after falling down 5-0 early on. Whether or not they hold this lead, we’ll keep close tabs on how Paredes fares in the rest of this one.
