For all the quiet postgame clubhouses, the sometimes-grumpy players, oftentimes empty quotes, the scene on Thursday evening at Yankee Stadium was probably a stark contrast.
I couldn’t tell you, because I watched the Detroit Tigers’ improbable comeback over the Yankees on Thursday night from my couch — beat writers need days off, too. But I’m guessing there was loud rap music and smiles and not only a sense of relief from winning a game, but a sense that they will win another game in the Bronx this weekend, or two.
Trailing by two runs entering the ninth inning, the Tigers authored what likely will hold up as their most memorable win of the season, hitting a pair of home runs off Dellin Betances in the team’s 8-7 win over the Yankees.
