DETROIT - Manager Brad Ausmus said it's possible designated hitter Victor Martinez could take light batting practice while the Detroit Tigers are out west on a seven-game road trip.
Martinez was put on the disabled list with an irregular heartbeat that hospitalized him for two days last week.
But he was released from the hospital Saturday, is home resting and will be monitored this week, Ausmus said before Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Rays at Comerica Park.
