Two new Opening Day festivals planned at Little Caesars Arena, Beacon Park

There are two new places for Detroit Tigers to party on Opening Day.

Little Caesars Arena is opening up its Chevrolet Plaza on Thursday and will stream the game on a 900-square-foot video screen as the Detroit Tigers face the Pittsburgh Pirates.

And Beacon Park will host fans from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the game shown on a 10-by-20-foot screen.

The first pitch is at 1:10 p.m. Thursday.

Massive crowds of fans, with or without tickets to the game, descend on Downtown Detroit for Opening Day celebrations every year, and the two new venues represent fresh party options for baseball fans.
