DETROIT -- Starting pitcher Jordan Zimmermann gave up four runs in the fourth inning as the Minnesota Twins beat the Detroit Tigers 6-1 Monday night at Comerica Park.
Zimmermann surrendered a solo home run to Eddie Rosario in the first inning, walked two batters in the second and hit a batter in the third.
But it was the fourth inning that proved inescapable. Zimmermann allowed a lead-off double to Robbie Grossman and then five singles, the last of which was an infield grounder on which he failed to cover first base in time.
Tigers relievers didn't allow a run through five innings of work until Jorge Polanco hit a solo shot off Alex Wilson in the ninth inning.
