Toledo Mud Hens make playoffs for first time in a decade

The Toledo Mud Hens are in the playoffs for the first time in more than a decade.

The Detroit Tigers' Triple-A affiliate clinched first place in the International League's West Division on Sunday. They play a final regular season game on Monday before opening the playoffs against the Durham Bulls, a Tampa Bay Rays' affiliate, on Wednesday night in Toledo.

The winner of that series will advance to play either the Scranton Wilkes-Barre Railriders or the Lehigh Valley Ironpigs beginning on Sept. 11 for the Governors' Cup.

The Mud Hens celebrated with gusto Sunday night after their game in Columbus, Ohio, and champagne-soaked players shared social media posts of the clubhouse party.
