DETROIT -- Victor Martinez will get an off day as the Detroit Tigers try to avoid a sweep at the hands of the New York Yankees Thursday afternoon at Comerica Park.
With Martinez out, Miguel Cabrera will be the designated hitter and John Hicks will play first base.
JaCoby Jones is starting in center field with left-hander Jaime Garcia on the mound for the Yankees. Mikie Mahtook will move to right field.
