DETROIT -- The Detroit Tigers and New York Yankees won't face each other again in 2017, and it's probably a good thing.
After Thursday's drama, they might need a few months before it's safe to be in the same stadium again.
Eight players and coaches were ejected, five batters were hit and benches cleared three times in a wild afternoon at Comerica Park.
"Truthfully, you think it's over. Once it clears once, you think it's over. And then the second time, you definitely think it's over," said Tigers manager Brad Ausmus. "You don't see games like this very often -- and for good reason, because of injury concerns -- and I hope I never see one again.
