MINNEAPOLIS -- Niko Goodrum will start at third base as the Detroit Tigers open a three-game series against the Minnesota Twins, the organization with whom Goodrum spent parts of eight seasons as a minor-leaguer.
It's also a homecoming for Tigers manager Ron Gardenhire, who spent nearly a quarter-century here as a coach and manager for the Twins.
Tigers left-hander Blaine Hardy (0-0, 3.38 ERA) will start against Twins right-hander Jose Berrios (4-4, 4.05). The game begins at 8:10 p.m. Eastern time at Target Field.
