The Detroit Tigers announced today that the club has acquired infielder Kody Eaves from the Los Angeles Angels in exchange for infielder Jefry Marte.
Eaves, 22, spent the entire 2015 season with Class A Inland Empire, playing in 134 games and hitting .248 with 70 runs, 17 doubles, 11 triples, 11 home runs and 71 RBIs. Eaves ranked second in the California League with 134 games played, tied for second with 11 triples and tied for third with 520 at-bats.
Eaves has posted a career .262 batting average in 373 minor league games.
Marte, 24, was designated for assignment by the Tigers last week.
