ARLINGTON, Texas – He was just trying to make sure he stepped on every bag.
When Tigers third-string catcher Bryan Holaday hit a home run in front of friends and family Tuesday night, he was pumped up.
“My stride got a little long going to third,” he said, hearing the cheers of the 20-some friends and family members that were in attendance. “It’s something I’ll remember for a long time.”
Holaday was part of a Texas-born trio of Tigers that had a terrific homecoming during the three-game set against the Rangers at Globe Life Park.
On Monday night, Tyler Collins hit a three-run home run to put the Tigers ahead for good in their only win of the series.
