The West Coast slide turned into a sweep as the Detroit Tigers tumbled to their sixth straight defeat, losing 6-0 to the Los Angeles Angels Wednesday at Angels Stadium.
Kole Calhoun, Albert Pujols and Justin Upton (2-run shot) homered off Tigers starter Blaine Hardy, who gave up five runs on seven hits before giving way to Artie Lewicki, who was called up Wednesday from Triple-A Toledo, in the sixth.
Detroit was outscored 32-8 and shut out three times on the six-game West Coast trip to Oakland and Anaheim.
