CINCINNATI -- The Great American Ball Park homer bug bit the Tigers again. Hours after a short-porch grand slam doomed Matthew Boyd, Michael Fulmer allowed home runs on back-to-back pitches, turning a shutout bid into a 5-3 Tigers loss to the Reds on Wednesday afternoon and a sweep of the two-game Interleague series.
The teams will meet in Detroit at the end of July for a two-game series at the more spacious Comerica Park. After two games watching the ball carry out under hot, humid conditions in Cincinnati, the Tigers are simply glad to leave town as they head to Cleveland for a divisional clash this weekend.
