Houston — The Tigers were one out away from sending the game to extra innings here Sunday.
But against reliever Tom Gorzelanny, Jake Marisnick tripled with two outs in the bottom of the ninth. Manager Brad Ausmus called on Alex Wilson to face Jose Altuve, who rammed the first pitch into the gap in left center field to give the Astros a 6-5 victory.
The Tigers have now only won one series and are 12-17 since the All-Star break.
It took until the seventh inning before the Tigers got a little snarly.
