We now know that there will be at least 62 players in Tiger Town when the Detroit Tigers open camp in Lakeland, Fla., in two weeks.
In addition to their 40 rostered players, the Tigers have invited 22 others to participate. Less than half of this group will head north with the big-league club, and many of those jobs on the 25-man roster have already been decided.
But that doesn't mean there won't be some intrigue this spring, including a handful of prospects getting their first chance to perform for new manager Ron Gardenhire and his coaching staff.
