The Tigers made two more minor league signings on Wednesday.
The team agreed to terms with right-handed pitcher Michael Crotta and outfielder Chad Huffman. Both have limited major league experience and spent the past two seasons playing in Japan’s Nippon Professional League.
Crotta, 31, has a 4.54 ERA in seven minor league seasons in the Pirates’ organization. He made 15 appearances in 2012, allowing 11 runs on 20 hits in 10 2/3 innings.
The past two seasons in Japan, he posted a 3.79 ERA and 1.39 WHIP.
Huffman, 30, is a .280 hitter in eight minor league seasons.
