DETROIT -- White Sox rookie starter Michael Kopech earned his first career win Sunday, holding the Detroit Tigers to just one run over six innings in a 7-2 victory at Comerica Park.
Kopech, a 22-year-old right-hander considered one of the game's top prospects, hit two batters but didn't issue a walk in his second big-league start.
The Tigers had their best chance to get back into the game in the sixth inning, when Kopech started to wane.
The Tigers got on the board with back-to-back doubles by Nicholas Castellanos and Victor Martinez, then loaded the bases with a couple of singles.
