Lakeland, Fla. — It was a good day for a couple of starting pitchers who have had their struggles this spring.
Both Anibal Sanchez and Jordan Zimmermann had successful outings — Sanchez in the exhibition game against the Mets, and Zimmermann on the back fields in a minor-league game.
For Sanchez, since correcting a delivery flaw with pitching coach Rich Dubee in West Palm Beach last week, he’s posted two straight impressive outings.
In a 5-0 Tigers win over the Mets, he pitched four scoreless innings, allowing two singles and no walks with five strikeouts.
