Detroit – The Tigers were going to wait until after the game Monday to announce which players from Triple-A Toledo will be joining them for the rest of the season, but manager Ron Gardenhire said not to expect any surprises.
Which likely means center field prospect Daz Cameron will not be making his Major League debut this month. Even though the Tigers will likely add him to the 40-man roster this offseason to protect him from the Rule 5 draft, he endured a rough season, hitting .214 with 152 strikeouts in 524 plate appearances.
It is expected only three position players will be called up, and they are three players who began the season in the Tigers’ everyday lineup – left fielder Christin Stewart, third baseman Jeimer Candelario and catcher Grayson Greiner.
