Tigers general manager Al Avila told reporters a while ago that right-hander Bruce Rondon was the first player to sign up to attend the Tigers’ annual winter caravan. Now it appears Rondon is the first player to be scratched from the list of players scheduled to attend.
The winter caravan is Thursday and Friday and TigerFest is Saturday at Comerica Park.
Rondon is currently recovering from the Chikungunya virus, which is transmitted to people by mosquitoes.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s web site, www.cdc.gov/chikungunya, the virus is transmitted to people by mosquitoes and the common symptoms are “fever and joint pain.
