CLEVELAND -- A miserable Ohio road trip got even worse for the Detroit Tigers on Friday night.
Cleveland Indians rookie Shane Bieber struck out nine over seven scoreless innings as the Tribe battered the Tigers 10-0 in the series opener at Progressive Field.
The game began after a 1-hour, 41-minute rain delay. More rain is in the forecast for Saturday.
The Tigers have lost (36-40) have lost three in a row, including the first two games of the road trip in Cincinnati.
The Indians (41-33) hit three home runs, including a knockout blow in the seventh inning against reliever Johnny Barbato.
