Tigers re-sign catcher Kade Scivicque for minor-league depth

DETROIT -- Former Detroit Tigers catching prospect Kade Scivicque is back in the organization after being released by the Atlanta Braves last week.

The Tigers signed Scivicque, 25, to a minor-league deal and assigned him to Double-A Erie.

The Tigers traded Scivicque to the Braves in 2016 along with Mike Aviles in exchange for infielder Erick Aybar. The Braves immediately released Aviles, so the swap was essentially Scivicque for Aybar.

Scivicque was drafted by the Tigers out of LSU in the fourth round in 2015.

The native of Maurepas, La., split the 2017 season between Triple-A Gwinnett and Double-A Mississippi, hitting .
