DETROIT -- Detroit Tigers manager Ron Gardenhire is giving Jeimer Candelario another day off on Friday.
This time, Gardenhire said he doesn't even want Candelario picking up a bat.
Candelario was out of the lineup on Thursday, but he still took batting practice and entered the game late as a pinch-hitter. On Friday, Gardenhire told a reluctant Candelario that he wants him to take a true day off.
Ronny Rodriguez, who had a career-high three hits on Thursday, will start again on Friday. Victor Reyes will also get another start after getting a couple of base hits last night.
