The Hens jumped out to an early lead in this one, and got a solid outing from Ryan Carpenter to earn the victory on Monday. Dawel Lugo drove in a pair in the first inning with an RBI single. Mike Gerber plated another with a sacrifice fly, though Lugo was gunned down at third for a double play. Jacob Robson drove in another in the second inning to make it 4-0. Carpenter pitched five scoreless innings before allowing a pair of runs off some loud contact in the sixth. The Hens bounced right back with solo shots from Mike Gerber and Mikie Mahtook in the sixth and seventh to re-open a four-run lead and held on despite a pair of runs allowed off of Phillipe Aumont in relief.
