Tigers prospect Matt Manning struggles in SeaWolves loss

Mikie Mahtook hit a two-run double to open the scoring, and RBI singles from Pete Kozma and Dustin Peterson eventually put Toledo up 5-1 by the end of the fifth. That was more than enough for the Mud Hens’ pitching staff, who did not allow a hit through the first six innings. Kyle Funkhouser worked four hit-less frames, but still gave up a run after a couple of walks and a wild pitch moved runners into scoring position. Sandy Baez worked a pair of scoreless innings in relief for the win, and Zac Houston picked up his first save of the year.
