Tigers' prospect Jones activated from suspended list

Detroit — JaCoby Jones, one of the Tigers top position prospects, has been activated from the suspended list and will play for Double A Erie.

Jones was suspended 50 games during the Arizona Fall League; he failed a test for a "drug of abuse."

He served some of the suspension during fall ball, and the rest this spring — after participating in camp with the Tigers, whom he impressed.

David Chadd, Tigers assistant general manager, told The News on Tuesday that the plan for Jones is to play some third base and center field.
