The Hens got out to a lead, but ultimately starter Spencer Watkins and reliever Eduardo Jimenez were hit hard to lose on Tuesday night. Watkins allowed a solo shot in the second to give the Tides the edge, but the Hens scored two in both the third and fourth innings. A Danny Woodrow sacrifice fly and a bases loaded walk by Mikie Mahtook plated two in the third. In the fourth, catcher Jake Rogers, just up from Erie, cracked a two-run shot to give the Hens a three-run lead. Watkins allowed two runs in the sixth, but the Hens still held a tenuous lead before Jimenez collapsed in the seventh.
