The Mud Hens fell behind early, but fought back to avoid a series sweep at the hands of the Indians. Starter Ryan Carpenter gave up five runs in the first three innings, but fought his way through six frames while striking out nine. Meanwhile, Toledo’s offense just kept scoring. Mikie Mahtook hit a leadoff home run in the first, and Jim Adduci added a two-run homer in the second. Adduci drove in three runs, and Chad Huffman added two RBI. They racked up 12 hits in all, and improved to 16-8 with the win.
